"Wish to understand" are the key words. The ones who holler the loudest that they are absolutely sure they have the only answer, are the most suspect of all. In fact, a person doesn’t have to study the mechanics of both sides of the story. Just studying the proponents of flatness gives a person all the information they need, to make an informed decision to the contrary. There out of aces. Go all in.

Everyone has to remember that these descriptions are ’models. I can’t stress this enough. Not one person can prove they exist let alone everything around them. Models are representations of reality that MIMIC their characteristics. Take the Bohr model of the atom. It worked really great to predict many things. But better models were developed based upon Bohr that explained how valence shells combine in chemistry and how LEDs work and much more. I am certain there will be a better model created later...BUT...is any of it the true nature of Physics? If you want to sit down over a few beers, I can explain that electricity does care about our models and operates the way it does by its own nature.

I am not saying NASA is not full of it, but Physics? That I can speak to. The earth supposedly has a diameter of 8000 miles. Satellites are at a distance of 6 miles. Question: Can you point a camera downwards from 6 miles and take a picture of the earth on a completely clear day over the entire earth. What is the widest angle camera lens available? The widest Satellite transmitter/receivers can only cover an area of say the Northeast US. There are pictures on the internet taken from Satellites...it is unnerving to say the least but it can’t cover the entire surface in one picture. You can’t step back far enough to snap the entire clan without several pictures and pasting them together.

I have been out on the Atlantic ocean for deep sea fishing many times. The nominal viewing distance to the horizon if you are close to the water is about 16 miles. As you go farther and farther out, the shoreline disappears, farther the boardwalk disappears under the horizon, then the buildings, and then nothing but water. I have seen this with my own two eyes and would testify under oath to such. I worked for the Navy and installed radars. There are equations for line to line sight of a radar using it’s height on the mast that are well known and can be found on the internet. I own the Navy guideline book that describes the subject matter. Anyone can go online and research this subject to get a better understanding if they wish to understand.

i won tickets to a stanley cup playoff game once and sold them. the station got pissed at me because I would always win the big prizes. you can only win once every 30 days and it was day 31. the stations promo director started making me sign forms when i won and they reported it as income at the end of the year. they were only supposed to do that if you win $600 or more, now they were adding up all my prizes and i got some kind of W2 form at the end of the year. little did they know at the time that i was using 10 other people’s info and winning prizes in their names too. then drunk frank got us caught. the one station called all the other stations and told them to watch out for me.

I have a healthy skepticism of science and especially astronomer’s constant rambling speculation without solid evidence when speculating on the universe, but overall, some things make more sense than others. As you speculated, is gravity totally the effect of mass or is it a curvature of space? Both? We need more information.
