There could have been no other reason for Chaivin to have his left hand in his left pocket. Don’t you want to keep your left hand immediately available for whatever sudden need that might arise ? I doubt he was checking to see whether he had bus fare home or loose change to pass out to possible homeless persons in the area. Sure Chauvin was irregular in his choice of shoes for police work, but to render one arm virtually useless in a fluid situation like that looks like taking ’irregularity’ into the area of insanity. For one more thing his balance would have been less compromised with that hand in his pocket.....And I think it’s pretty obvious that Floyd is not dead when the cops go to roll him onto his back. He moves his head, his neck muscles have the energy to hold his head up. That is not what a dead person’s neck muscles do.
