I have done quite a bit of astrophotography. Pretty good mid-level, autotracking equipment with high end telescopes and thermoelectric-cooled CCD cameras, multiple night sessions co-adding up to 40+ hours of photosensor exposure showing brilliant backgrounds of nebula bursting with color against a sea of stars (multi-colored) and hydrogen alpha emissions, not having a clue how all that stuff got out there. But I just looked up images from the Cassini mission and I cannot find one of the Milky Way or just the brilliant background of stars in general. All I can find is highly polished planetary images. Pretty weird.

I think I am the only scientist I know who questions the Apollo missions. I question everything that gets dogmatic consensus. I am often proven wrong, but I am also often proven right. The political and media production aspects of the Apollo missions, along with the current inability to repeat them with the same blueprints, reeks to high heaven. No valid scientific endeavor is unrepeatable. That is the first and most obvious rule of scientific discovery. It is also my first rule in judging the usefulness of any scientific claim today. If someone else cannot reproduce your results, you cannot chalk it up to the magic of your “specialness” and you must be willing to reject it. It gets complicated when politics, fraud, crime and threats are involved though.
