It’s a show, but not “just” a show. He’d be found guilty, even publicly executed, if there was the “opinion” that this would inspire more division amongst the population. If maximum civil unrest could be fomented by drawing and quartering him in the public square, thy’d happily do that, provided that the majority of the energy and hatred be directed between groups of the unwashed masses, and not in unison against the people crafting these narratives and psyops.
