Well, that’s what I did. That is what led me to ask whether the article was ever real. When I did that research you refer to all I could find were references claiming that the article does not exist and is in fact a fabrication. So I asked the question here to see if anyone knows differently.

One clue about the authenticity of the NYT article: The spirit of the NYT is certainly captured in the title (I get a daily NYT email feed and they really do promote ideas with that level of ludicrousness), but the chosen words are too blatant and straightforward to fit their MO. Do you really think they are quite that stupid to publish a headline so blatant and obvious? Maybe, but to me it seems unlikely.

Can anyone verify the NYT article in the thumbnail? It appears to be another fabrication that was never actually published, as far as I can tell. If the article was actually published and then wiped due to bad publicity (which does happen), it would likely have been caught in the archives. However, this seems to be another case of fabrication for fear-porn. Who spends their time making this stuff up to make things worse when the problem is actually real? I am not accusing anyone here, just to be clear.
