I am not defending mask wearing because it’s stupid to be wearing one but at the same time this is a nonsensical way to prove they are a hazard. A 175# man breathes in approximately 34 cu inches of air per breath. The mask holds maybe 2 cu inches of oxygen depleted air (approx 17% oxygen). The instant you start your breath that air is pulled in from the mask and the rest of your breath pulls air from outside the mask (approx 20.8% oxygen). The real test is to wear a dissolved o2 meter while wearing a mask to see what happens to your dissolved o2 in you blood. Also wearing a mask does make you work harder to breath and you should be tested and have a physical before wearing one per OSHA.
