The "MARK" is a sign of worship/ownership. It is not a control system nor is it anything to do with a machine. Plain and simple as in the days of Christ life, Satan and therefore, the man of lawlessness, who is being talked about here.. want worship. To go one further, the false prophet does NOT have anything to do with bringing others to a "mark" but to building a idol/statue of the man of lawlessness/anitchrist etc for WORSHIP or death. This verse and the previous verse are far apart in time ie: rev 9:6 is end of 5th trumpet and begin four horsemen. The mark will be available as soon as Jacobs/ISRAEL Troubles begin at start of 70th week. almost 7 years difference in those 2 verses. Note 2 Thes 2:6-7 shows what must occur before anti/man of/etc can be in the open. What is the detainer. It is the ecclesia. Some suggest it is the Holy spirit that is removed but we will note thats not the case as It DOES assist some during this time in many verses. -- This mark is for control. Like we see in China now. Ultimate control and surveillance to match. This system of information collection will indeed be handed over to the evil one(s) in that day. for now it is men with evil in their hearts who will abuse it. Some good news on this chip thing tho.. a stun gun or dog "bark" shocker will kill it in an instant. Even in a credit card, body part etc..
