I already have, successfully, multiple times. It’s not a "strawman" technique, it’s actually not using your strawman to deal with them. Most recently, I was traveling as a passenger with a companion that was stopped for an alleged infraction and the officer asked me to produce ID. I declined citing that the state I live in does not require it, like the gentleman in the video stated, unless I’m suspected of the commission of a crime. The officer then used the classic line, "well I just need to know who I’m dealing with and make sure that you aren’t wanted for anything". I again declined, citing that his request was not statute under state code and gave him the title and section number. I then told him that I wished to not provide any further answers to questions that I was not obligated to under state statute. He gave my companion a "warning" for the alleged infraction and went on his way as quickly as he could. No arrest, no court date.
