If one were indoctrinated into the modern view of the solar system and Earth, one would look up the radius of the Earth and find that it is reported to be 3963 miles. At 2*PI*r, this equates to 24,900 miles “around”. That means that, at the equator, the effective “speed” of movement at the surface is an average of 1037 mph. However, nobody has measured the “radius”, nor determined the exact shape. The radius was arrived at by the assumption of a sphere and based upon the estimated circumference of the Earth, and working backwards, as described by the all-knowing Wikipedia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth%27s_circumference. However, this was based upon the pre-assumption that the Earth is spherical in shape. This nobody can prove and was only assumed because it precisely fits all observations of cyclic astronomical movements for the period of recored history, which we all know is a short time in the grand scheme of things.

Here is a little thought experiment for people who want to use intuitive logic applied only within the context and scale of their experience to decipher the nature of the Earth. “Spinning at 1000 mph” sounds “fast”, doesn’t it? Now consider this: take a bicycle wheel and mount it on a peg horizontal to the ground so that you can spin it. Turn it at a rate so that it take you 24 hours to make it go all the way around one time. That is how fast the “spinning” model of the Earth turns. One day to go around. That is not very fast. It is excruciatingly slow if you sit outside at night and watch the sky move. You will actually see stars move east to west at exactly that rate, provided you look due east and nowhere else. If you look anywhere off of due east, you will observe stars following an arc in the sky that gets sharper and smaller the farther away from east you get, until you hit exactly north or exactly south. At exactly north or south, at an angle from the ground precisely defined by your latitude, you will see nothing move. This makes no claim about the shape of the Earth. This only states what you are absolutely guaranteed to observe if you care to do the exercise.

You are entited to your beliefs, but your argument here is logically flawed. Sound is the transmission of compression waves through the medium of air (the atmosphere). It is irrelevant how fast the body we exist on is moving, and whether it is moving in one direction or around in a circle. All that matters is how fast a source of sound is moving relative to the air that it is emitting sound into. You’ll also notice that the wind is not blowing at 1000 miles per hour. You might be tempted to say that this proves that the Earth is not spinning as well, but please note that when you fly at 500 mph in an airplane, there is not a 500 mph wind inside the airplane either, because the air is accelerated with the airplane. The same is true when you go 100 mph in a car. Since the globe model of Earth, beliefs aside here, also holds that the atmosphere itself is part of this system and spins with it, the source of sound moving toward another body within the same space of atmosphere causes a relative compression of sound waves and a higher frequency, whereas the source of sound moving away causes an elongation of sound waves and a lower frequency. It would not matter if the Earth were both spinning at 1000 mph and hurtling through “space” at 15 million mph (relative to something else, or there is no “velcity” actually). As long as the atmosphere is part of the system and moving with it, the Doppler effect works and the math works. Notice that I do not make a claim about the shape of the Earth here. Only that your logic is flawed and your argument is invalid.
