It’s peculiar how often people are planting little one-liners to attempt to discredit information by association with something unrelated (and usually ignorant, probably sometimes intentional, possibly sometime sincere). Most people probably wouldn’t assume a good mechanic could not fix their car if they found out they had a different view of fast food, GMOs, or, actually, even if a particular virus does or does not exist. They wouldn’t publish statements that Joe Corolla is an incompetent mechanic because he believes a virus exists, especially after he was sick and recovered, allegedly from the non-existent virus. Chances are everyone involved in creating your electronic devices used to make these comments fully believe that men landed on the moon in 1969, and even brought a moon buggy up there. And Nixon called them on a telephone. 52 year later, nobody has been able to build the tech to do that, but almost 100% of people alive today still believe it and will label one as crazy for not believing it. But you don’t assume that your computer doesn’t work because it was designed and manufactured by people who believe people walked on the moon.

Simply remaining ignorant and basing “proof” upon what “sounds good” in pure rhetorical narrative devoid of concrete evidence, experimental data and proper experimental controls does not constitute reliable fact. I guess if making up the reality of the physical world subjectively in your head works for you, that is your right as a free person. I guess we all do to some extent, but insisting on remaining ignorant to protect a very fragile juvenile worldview that must be protected from the countless obvious facts that have been learned over the past several hundred years, as an adult, is a bit strange. Easier than having to deal with the constant need to relearn and modify our understanding if we already know the small number of concepts necessary to “know everything” with no threat of anything known actually changing and creating an inconvenience.
