Is there an esoteric definition of gear that is symbolically different than the reptilian reflex of raw self-preservation that is the fear most living creatures are familiar with? Is it this raw reptilian reflex of self-preservation that somehow leads to “love”? This beginning of wisdom - where does it end?

Now, watching several thousand years of billions of people gaslighting, torturing, murdering, enslaving and dehumanizing each other over minor differences in interpretation of your written words, wouldn’t you want to, at some point, just come out and speak out loud to a few, maybe, and I’ll just throw it out there, everyone, to try to clarify what you are trying to say? I mean, assuming that you care and all that? I guess we’ll get that soon, possibly in our own lifetimes, with the military “voice of God” project. But what about the voice of the real god? Does he only whisper to individual to tell them to start movements to slaughter populations of others who believe in him slightly differently? Why such a personal and private thing in the first place?

Probably. And wrong, as we all have been from time to time concerning undefined and abstract matters.

“A””theism” is such a tired concept. There are as many definitions of “God” as there are people, and each seems to think their personal definition can beat all the others’ daddies with one hand. Most “atheists” probably are not atheist at all. They just don’t believe your personal god is going to burn them or their own concept of god with dragon breath for some obscure transgression of internal belief.

Fear? Really? Fear is the grand motivator. I’ll give you that.

If you are an atheist you think you are going into eternal punishment anyway. I.e extinction. Chose life.

That’s why you have to invite God into your life. Precisely because God is not demanding your worship.

Fear of God is the BEGGINING of wisdom.

Leggo my eggo. That is a waffle best served well toasted, and dripping with sweet, syrupy rhetoric. It takes considerable ego to maintain a foundation of unshakeable belief in an uncertain world for decades. As the world ontinue to change and refine its presentation of reality, the truly devout have the fortitude to maintain solidly static beliefs that will not be changed by thousands of year of experience and evidence.

Curious thing. Why don’t good Christian parents model their parenting behavior after the fine examples demonstrated in the good book? Demanding that their children love and obey them, remaining fully out of sight at all times, and demanding that their children believe in them even more for their absence. Threatening them with eternal damnation and claiming “that’s the other guy - he used to be my friend but we had a falling out. I am all-powerful, but he can still steal your soul and I’m going to sit back and watch, because, you know … love and all that.” Oh, and let’s set up a whole bunch of little obstacles to trick you into not believing, then punish you if you fall for them, sort of like the FBI busting terrorist plots. It makes perfect sense. You just have to get your mind right, Cool Hand. You have nothing to fear if you’re not guilty. Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.

I would suggest that you take a patient step back and re-read this person’s comment. I believe the comment stated “… there is no doubt that it was intelligently designed.” This does not say “There is no God”. I think the question revolves around the authenticity of “the book” (and, by extrapolation, presumably the “dogma” that follows the adherence to a “book”). Perhaps it is a good idea to reflect on whether one is defending “the truth” or simply the comfort one’s own foundation built upon one’s own beliefs.

We are people with continuously evolving thoughts and active minds who prefer not to be artificially crystallized in memory by the arbitrary and unsolicited application of labels. But, of course labels provide the black and white structure, those rigid, unchanging, laws that survive those brief thousands of years and provide comfort to the compliant, that some will need to live by to give life its purpose.

There is a loving God and He has made Himself known. Have you not considered the error may be with you? Not God? Show some dedication by reading the Bible. Reflect and repent of your sins and ask for the Holy Spirit and then tell me there is no God.
