Now to more on that hero dog that helped take down the leader of ISIS. Part of an elite group of K9s trained in secret from a very young age to complete dangerous tasks that only can be done by man's best friends. Stephanie Rommel says here with more. Good morning, Stephanie. Michael, good morning. There are nearly 2,000 dogs on assignment with service members from every branch of the military. Some of those dogs in special operations units working to complete some very dangerous missions. The Delta Force team on a top secret mission in Syria to find the world's most wanted terrorists have this dog by their side, a Belgian mull and wall. We don't know its identity. We're not releasing the name of the dog right now. But we do know it is special and being called a hero in the military operation that ended in the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakar al-Baghdadi. Abu Bakar al-Baghdadi is dead. He reached the end of the tunnel as our dogs chased him down. The military working dog performed tremendous service as they all do in a variety of situations. The president tweeting this picture Monday, White House officials tell ABC News the dog will likely get an official invite to visit the White House. A dog. A beautiful dog. A talented dog. A dog. A dog. A dog. Come on, smile. Say flash. Many were killed. We lost nobody. Think of that. It's incredible. When you told the Russians you said your question. Our dog was hurt. The K-9 was hurt. Went into the tunnel. But we lost nobody. Then time saw it. We had nobody even hurt. And that's why the dog was so great. Military working dogs with special operation units are capable of doing more than the average military working dog. These are dogs that parachute out of military aircraft. Many of them equipped with goggles, infrared mounted live cameras, water proof body gear that can be resistant to bullets, shrapnel and knife attacks. And the dog used in Sunday's raid isn't the first Belgian mullinois to take part in a large-scale terrorist operation. In 11, Cairo, the same breed, worked with the Navy's SEAL Team 6 to find and kill Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. His service immortalized on the silver screen in the film Zero Dark 30. Machine dogs proving to be more than just man's best friend. And while the Pentagon says the K-9 commando from this past weekend's raid was slightly injured by the blast, the dog is back at work in the region with its handler. This dog is so smart. And usually these dogs are seen as forced multipliers because their senses are much more sensitive than humans. So smart, you said. Released a picture of the resilient pup tweeting, the wonderful dog did such a great job. These invaluable military K-9s are no strangers to showcasing their skills during missions that often lead to dangerous and potentially deadly scenarios. Bone for their intense work ethic are often used by the military and police. In fact, according to a report in the New Yorker, in 2011, a Belgian mullinois named Cairo helped in the Osama bin Laden raid. When President Obama asked to meet the dog, he was told I advise you to bring treats. This dog is a four-year veteran of the Socom K-9 program and has been a member of approximately 50 combat missions. He was injured by exposed live electrical cables in the tunnel after Baghdaddi detonated his vest beneath the compound. I will also note he has been returned to duty. Now the spotlight is shining on another dog that many are calling a nation's best friend.
