The lives were affected that day, including one East Texas family who was there and made it out alive. Tashiya Asam, a Tyler native, took her mother, daughter, and granddaughter to the Allen Outlet Molly Saturday afternoon for a fun girl's day when things took an unexpected horrific turn. The shooting sent families like hers and workers running for their lives. They said they could hear the gunshots getting closer and closer as the chaos unfolded. I covered my grandbaby fully and I got over my mother's head and her back and I could see my daughter. I saw my mom hold body over my child. The family described the scene like a war zone. They said they were able to make it out alive by the grace of God.
