The legend of Jim Jones and people's temple is out there, but he needs money to keep operating and keep growing. He's going to go to the big cities and then he'll come back and he can use that new kind. I remember early on recruiting in San Francisco, going out and passing out leaflets, asking for money and telling people this was to support the orphanage in Brazil. We had cans with starving children on the and we backed for money. I was very good at it because I would go down where the prostitutes were and they were very generous. I could raise two or three hundred or four hundred dollars very quickly. And money comes for unions. The economic wealth that was there, they were bringing in money from social security, offerings, land deals. He's beginning to accumulate so much money that they can't hide it in local accounts anymore. Jones decides they should start putting their money into banks and Panama. Some of it they do openly a lot they don't. Jones sends people to Panama mostly women dress nicely to teeth, huge stacks of money to the inside of their thighs. Before you know it they have got as much as twenty twenty five million dollars in foreign accounts. Untraceable. In Jones Town terror in the jungle a two night special event premier Saturday November 17th at nine on Sundance.
