Onnicka Dean was in the baggage claim area when the fire or gunman opened fire and barely escaped with her life. Onnicka, good morning to you. So we're going to listen to a version of events from a woman who seems very monotone and very emotionless when describing how near she was to this particular shooter. But it's all about the sort of positive spin on this by the hero that jumped on her and to cover her whilst this guy was shooting. Whilst everybody would react differently to being involved in one of these things, it doesn't seem natural that she's not really good. It's natural that she's not reacting in any way or showing any sort of major emotion. So we'll play it through anyway. Good morning. First things first, I understand your mom of two boys ages 11 and 13. I know they were on your mind and I know you're thankful for them this morning. How are you holding up? I'm doing okay. I'm doing well. Anika, take us if you can back inside that terminal yesterday. What did you see? What did you hear? When did you realize what was going on? I was standing at baggage claim three and I heard gunshots. I knew what was happening. I'm a teacher for Broward Public Schools and I've been through two active shooter trainings. I bear in mind that only certain people get to go in front of all the different new stations. The fact that she mentions that she's been involved in training to do with active shooters is it a bit of a red flag really because one she is going to be accustomed to it, but she's also mentioning it to get into the subconscious of other people that it's something that's normal and everybody should eventually do. So when I heard the gunfire, I looked in the direction of the shooter. I saw the shooter. I can describe them. The black hair blue shirt. He had the gun. I saw the shots being fired. I immediately ducked behind a smart cart and I just laid there. There wasn't really anywhere to hide. I couldn't have escaped. I couldn't have run. There were maybe 30 seconds and an older gentleman laid on top of me and said, I will protect you. So this is really the introduction into the ridiculous nature of this story. After 30 seconds, which is quite a long time if you were to count it yourself, that once this guy is shooting and eventually giving up because he wasn't doing anything for that long, I think he only shot a few times, reloaded a few more times and then that was the end of it. 30 seconds is quite a long time. But the idea that after 30 seconds, a guy decides to jump on top of her and say, I'll protect you. Wow, have you been able to find him or get in touch with him? So whilst the news is showing that in that particular picture, the Daily Mail have this one instead. And it says there that his wife was actually in the airport as well. I mean, this particular picture has actually been taken in a baggage area. So make sure you wonder whether this was just before the shoot in itself, whether you know the prep in the pictures in advance, or whether this was just somewhere else. But the point I want to make is that this guy was with his wife and he decided to jump on top of her instead. And it's not really just that it's the idea that the interview in the woman, you don't ever get to hear anything from this guy to collaborate the story. I have, yes. What did you say to him? His name's Tony Bartosovitz from Rochester, New York. I think many times throughout the day, really grateful that he was willing to put himself at risk to shield my body. And I was praying to God the entire time. A Double In Mother and Daughter were at the Fort Lauderdale airport when the gunfire rang out and they saw the gunman shooting. The two women spoke to WDPJ7 핑시간 Jeane Jants today. What are you holding there? This was something that was made by Allison for me that was personal for us. We only had nine months together but I can tell you guys it was a white, hot relationship at Burn Full of Love. We were betrothed to each other. We were going to get married. We moved in together in August because we wanted to save money to buy a house and to buy a ring. We were living the dream and that dream was shattered. For our six month anniversary we didn't have enough time to have an anniversary so all we could have a month of the first year. She made me this scrapbook and said that we were the cutest, newsiest, prettiest couple ever. And we are. She texted me when she got to work at around 3 a.m. that said, good night sweet boy and that was the last that I had heard of her. And then about seven o'clock yesterday morning I got calls from the station telling me that there was a shooting live on air and that I needed to come to the station. What do you want people to know about Allison? I want people to know that Allison would want us to be celebrating her life not mourning her death. They would want to know that she was someone who was infinitely likable. She cannot be forgotten. She must be remembered for the wonderful journalist and amazing person that she was, a daughter, sister and a boyfriend, a daughter, sister and a boyfriend, a daughter, sister and a boyfriend and a girlfriend. I just love her so, so much. The election day inside Chris Hurst sees every door as an opportunity. How you doing? In southwest Virginia's 12th district where politics are polarized and margin slim. I can still count on your voters. Many voters have seen Hurst in their homes before. When you go around door to where everybody recognizes you because you grow on television. The 30-year-old former local news anchor at Knitsett helps him, but the Democrat will need more than that to become state delegate. This mom and her son survived separate mass shootings just 13 months apart. I can't believe it. I honestly can't believe it. On Valentine's Day, Onakadine received these urgent text messages from her 14-year-old son Austin. The next text said, it's real. We're on lockdown. We're okay, but just in case I love you. The massacre at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School hit home for this mother of two. It's hard to believe, but last January, Onakad found herself running for her life. On a craze gunman opened fire at the Fort Lauderdale Airport baggage claim, killing five. We spoke with Onakad back then. I saw the shooter. He was coming towards us shooting. I laid down and I just instantly began praying. The day Onakad spoke with less trend. To have survived that and then to hear this happening at your son's school, how do you process it? I am still in shock. I mean, I look like I'm in shock, but I'm still in very much in disbelief. How is Austin doing? He's emotional. He lost a teacher. He lost two friends of his that he's known since the second grade. The images from both shootings are eerily similar. The innocent fleeing with their hands in the air. What are the chances that you would survive a mass shooting and then your son would survive? I would hope very rare. I'm really saddened. I'm heartbroken that this is becoming that comment. Because we had had a fire alarm earlier that day and that was a drill. So we thought this was a drill too, just another one. Because we have a lot of fire alarms. A lot of fire drills at the school. After we heard the first gunshot, we initially thought it was a drill. That was a bad choice. Actually that was a bad choice because the janitor, sorry. Honestly, when I was going out, I was kind of in shock. So most of my friends that made it out, one of them went into a bathroom in the state. I believe in the same hallway as the shooter. One of them went into the same bathroom, I believe, as the hallway shooter. He was in there at the same time and he was in the bathroom and he didn't know if he was going to live. So we had the faculty and leg teachers. They had a paper about cold red cold black. So sorry guys, the distance is so much and it's just happened. What's to do? So we went over a cold red which is going on campus. We went over that about a month ago and there was no way to fly on the school back. There was an interesting shooting to see how the students were prepared for it in the
