one of the survivors of that shooting is a man from round rock. He was shot in a lower back twice while playing in the mad internament. Kavie's Kaelin Norwood spoke to him tonight and Kaelin thankfully he is out of the hospital now. Chris Tony Montagnino is back at a hotel recovering. He was in the hospital for five hours. He told me he never thought he would get her doing something he loved. Now he's just grateful to be alive. Up and moving at a Florida hotel, Tony Montagnino is a survivor. I got I got hospital scrubs on and it's bandaged up pretty tight. It's for about two hours. It was just bleeding and they couldn't they couldn't get it to quit. He's talking about his bullet wound in his lower back. He's one of a dozen people shot Sunday afternoon during a madden NFL E Games tournament in Jacksonville. The shots heard on video as two gamers competed in the tournament. Montagnino says he was right behind them and when he turned around, that's when a bullet came his way. I saw just flashes from the gun. And I dove with the thought that you're laying there and this could possibly be the end. And like you can't even tell the people that you care about them. It's pretty rough. I immediately texted him and when I got no response, you know, kind of got worried. Montagnino's close friend David Thompson says he reached out immediately when he heard of the shooting and was heartbroken when he found out Montagnino was shot. Oh, it was like my heart jumped through my throat like I was. Actually didn't really know what to do. Now the husband and father of two is grateful for this second chance. I get an opportunity to know to look at my family. It's almost it's almost like a second shot. Montagnino's wife took a flight out there to meet him and though he is very sore tonight, he's expected to return to Round Rock tomorrow.
