Well, we're living in a new era and institutions are figuring this all out day by day. Now one way could be new partnerships. Hartford HealthCare began expanding its reach in southeastern Connecticut about six months ago before the first coronavirus cases were reported in Connecticut. Now the timing is just right for a new partnership with Connecticut College before students get back to class. We will be doing significant efforts around infection prevention and the monitoring of all of the infectious disease and hygienic procedures within Connecticut College. HHC campus cares will open up Hartford HealthCare's network of some 3,000 doctors to keep students safe. Students will be tested for coronavirus weekly and work with doctors in the network should they become sick. It will see an increased staffing in student health services with a variety of different roles supporting the work of the health center. In addition, both student health services and sports medicine will have expanded services and access to dedicated team of medical personnel from HHC on campus. An urgent care facility is just miles from campus, but as they work to prevent and monitor infection, students may never have to leave their rooms. Many of your students will be able to just log on from their dorm room and actually receive medical care without even having to go the two miles to our center. Classes resume August 24th and the health care group hopes to expand partnerships like this to other schools. And concollege officials say they hope this partnership helps to ease some of those fears that parents have about sending their kids back amid a global pandemic. In Hartford, Samaya Hernandez, News 8.
