So when I see those two kids Sophia and Ariel I see them that's the one ray of light. What we don't want that's the one ray of light. What we don't want. Still not real that my my little girl who's so full of light and who wants a horse so badly and you're just gonna get cowgirl boots. Regardless, this isn't coming home. And that's what you would do isn't it? I mean you'd get into the child's bed and you remember all the things you loved about ABC News did a great job without an interview. We appreciate the letting us run that clip and but the emotion that you feel when you watch that story and you feel that story and you feel all the stories that we've all been going through for the past 72 hours relate directly to what we're gonna talk to our next guest. oh you and they're dead in the building. We're not dead for a moment. God! You're still so young, childnessy, man. My best friend Shannon, child is missing. And the two that they took to the hospital are dead. Now, and you can pretty much assume that the ones that are in the hospital, I mean, they're in the school are dead. Why does it help you to know why he did it? If it's happened something made him do it, then you can stop that from happening to another person making them do it again. And listen to what they say about guns. A gun's bad? Not always. Not exact. Guns can be good or bad depending who's using them. Is the answer no guns? Not exactly. Let's say I go in there today and say, I'm going to gun, man, sell me the gun. Should I be able to get it right then? No. You should limit that amount of bullets that can be in a gun. What do you think is a bigger deal with why this happened? That the gun or the culture of violence? The culture of violence. It's hard to change culture, isn't it? Armed guards? Yes. It will actually make me feel safe. And if that doesn't work, then it's a good solution of all. A time machine. Time machine. Go back in time and try to stop what would happen. His family sharing a lot about him today, saying the little guy would have grown up to be an amazing father and an amazing husband too. This town is 300 years old. And this is probably the worst day in the history of this town. And it's hard to believe that anything like this could happen in this town. It's a very quiet town. Maybe it's too quiet. And it's horrible that such evil exists in the United States and in Sandy Hook, in particular. That's the nature of the world we live in, I guess. The bodies of the victims and the gunmen were transported from the crime scene to the coroner's office. Connecticut's chief medical examiner, Wayne Carver, said the carnage was the worst he's seen in 31 years on the job. On our breaking news, law enforcement sources telling CBS News is Bob Orr that Adam Lanz had chose Sandy Hook Elementary School because he wanted to maximize the death toll because they say he saw himself as being in competition with another mass murderer joining us on the phone right now.
