that in that courtyard earlier this morning, all the evidence left behind. The crime tape is up, and this is going to be a crime scene, as I said earlier, for hours, if not days back to the studio. Talking about that note about the message, and I'm sure the talk of gun violence will begin again. In fact, Avon Newsom, our governor, tweeting to Mitch McConnell, how many more lives will we lost? How many more shootings will we have to endure? We need common sense gun reform now. Obviously, this morning, what we're concerned about right now are those victims, and that's hopefully the extent is that that one unfortunate female that did pass away as a result of this shooting, we want to hear good news about the other five victims that we have confirmed so far. We want to head over to Bob DeCasse, where there's a lot going on where he is. He's in Central Park. I just saw it look like SWOT and FBI behind you, Bob. Yeah, it's a high of activity here in Central Park, pretty much the ground zero now, where everything is taking place. We're still waiting for the Sheriff's Press conference. We're waiting for him to arrive. That will take place shortly as soon as that happens. We'll bring it to you. I'll show you around here. This is what has become the Command Center, a debrief now going on. That's the FBI's Command Center. And when we talk about how this all played out this morning, this is something that they have been training and they have been reacting to now over the past several years. So when the call came out 730 this morning, immediately, all of these agencies were completely mobilized and sprung into action, the FBI, the ATF, several local agencies. We see the Office of Emergency Management here, the Homeland Security Department, the Sheriff's Department, LAPD, Los Angeles Police, just a number of agencies that are here investigating what took place here this morning. And of course, when we didn't know whether or not the suspect had been apprehended or not, there was the efforts to go into the communities, into the neighborhoods, to knock on doors, telling people to shelter in place, lock down those various schools in the neighborhoods and make sure all of those kids were safe. So a lot of stuff unfolded when those first calls came in around 740 this morning. And just like a textbook, everything worked out seamlessly. Unfortunately, we did have that one fatality and those kids injured. As we look a little to the right, you can see what's happening over in the park over there. And that's where the reunification process is still taking place. Meaning you still have several parents and several kids that still need to be reunified. As they begin to release the kids from the school, still in a lockdown, still in those classrooms, they're releasing them one by one, they're bringing over them over here by bus, either by a city bus, a city of Santa Clarita buses are out here, or the school buses with the school district, bringing them over here, and then eventually, after they are interviewed by the Sheriff's Department and by the authorities, they are then released after showing their identification and released to their parents. So we're seeing a lot of those reunification still taking place. Again, that's going to take place throughout the morning. And likely to the afternoon here, as we're talking about hundreds of students that they have to release to their parents. But lots of emotions here, as you might imagine, you have people breathing a sigh of relief that they're able to finally talk to their kids, that are finally able to see their kids. But lots of anxiety as well to know that this took place in Santa Clarita in August, in a neighborhood, in a community that everyone thought was just so very safe. But we're also watching these scenes of these communities come together, hearing stories of how parents were just picking up kids and pulling them into their cars and bringing them to safe places, how parents are rushing over here and asking other parents how their other kids are doing. So there's a real community feel here. Lots of people really hugging each other and grateful that these kids are now being reunited with their parents. Again, we're waiting for that press conference. As soon as that press conference gets underway, we're gonna bring it to you. We'll send it back to you. You know what Bob, that overhead there, the Sheriff's helicopter, that might in fact be carrying the sheriff because we're just being told that traffic, okay, so in fact, we're getting confirmation that that is the sheriff actually having to be airlifted to or flown to, I should say, central park here, just to be able to make this press conference, this news conference happened because traffic is just gridlocked in this area because of this latest school shooting. So there you have it, the sheriff touching down so it should just be a few more minutes until we can bring you the very latest information at that news conference. Yeah, I can definitely tell you with, as many students as we have here, as I was driving to the area here, even on bouquet canyon road up to the road Centurion, you see parents and obviously you would do the same thing, you're scrambling to get the information for your kids, scrambling to get reunited with your kids and the road was just jammed and they had a lot of road blocks. There obviously the sheriff's can get through that area, but LA County Sheriff's Department, obviously a huge area to cover. So even if he was in downtown LA or on Monoray Park where lots of the sheriff's headquarters and other facilities are, it would take them certainly some time to get out here. This would be the quickest method for him to get out here and to be able to speak to the people here at the command post, at the scene to really get the very latest. So as soon as he does reconnect with them and I'm sure it's gonna take a little bit of time for him to get everybody in place, we'll bring that press conference to you. We just saw a supervisor, Catherine Barger here as well. So this is also, it'll turn into a federal investigation as well so no doubt we'll hear from the FBI in terms of where they're gonna take this investigation also. Sure and it looks like in fact that is the sheriff as he makes his way across one of the sports fields to arrive at the podium there. So a few more minutes, LA County Sheriff's just tweeting out from there, Twitter here that parents please reunite, just remind your parents to reunite with your students at this location, Central Park. And also saying if your student has not been released, we appreciate your patience. They may have been a witness and are being interviewed. So that would in fact be the hold up and I'm sure parents can understand that this is now, it's really sad to report that Saga's High School is now a crime scene has been turned into a crime scene after this morning shooting that happened almost four hours ago, about 730 this morning. Keep in mind this press conference at Central Park with the Sheriff's Department was supposed to have in at 10 a.m. it's now almost 1115 an hour, 15 minutes later. And I saw so many parents here in children just hanging onto each other, reaching out, grabbing someone's hand, reassuring each other that they had come through this okay. We're giving another look at a different part of this parking lot. You can see a lot of people with the FBI vests and jackets on there. This is one of the command areas where a lot of the officials working here have been meeting. And if we pan around, I wanna show you, this is where we're awaiting the sheriff, sheriff being away with us. So all of this happening within very close proximity to each of these different locations, these parents and children walking through this parking lot and some of them have stopped, Suzanne and Demarco and are waiting just kind of on the outside because they wanna hear the latest as well. Keep in mind this press conference at Central Park with the Sheriff's Department was supposed to have in at 10 a.m. it's now almost 1115 an hour, 15 minutes later. And that's because so many parents, as you can only imagine, ran over, drove over to Central Park the minute they heard that that's where they can find their child and it is gridlocked there. In fact, in the Sheriff's Department tweeting out earlier, if you're just a looky-leaf, you just wanna see what's going on, please don't go to that area. A lot of people were just going to the park just to, I guess, see what was happening, ask questions, which is understandable, it's your neighborhood, it's your community, you wanna make sure everything is safe and you wanna talk to your neighbors as well, but avoid the area if you can. We need to get, of course, those families reunited with those students and many of them are not reunited. Keep that in mind, the Sheriff's Department, again, it's all about Twitter today, which has been so helpful trying to communicate to you all. We've been on Twitter all morning, then, of course, all these different agencies and officials have been on Twitter as well. It's the fastest way to be able to disseminate all that information to you. So earlier, they said, the Sheriff's Department tweeting that, you know, have patients, these students are possibly witnesses or have some sort of information about what happened today, about this deadly shooting at Saga's High School. So please be patient, I know it's a scary situation, but be patient, your student will be released to you. And that's what you have to remember is that if you do have your student, if you were unified with them, if you did have a reunion, you're able to hold your child again, it's a huge sigh of relief, of course, your frantic and all the ramifications afterwards. That's why they're bringing in healthcare officials or mental health officials to help these students, because we have no idea what they saw and what they've been through. But imagine those parents who haven't been unified, who don't know if it's one of their children, you know, one of those students in the hospital right now. And of course, one set of parents that actually lost a student right today, our hearts and prayers are with that family, with all families involved, with the Saga's High School shooting. And now while we wait for this news conference, we do wanna make you aware that Henry Mayo Hospital in Valencia, which is just about five miles from the high school itself, that's where four patients were taken, and in fact, where one of those students did die, pass away earlier this morning, they will be holding a news conference, but they are waiting until, and that's a live look inside there, in the small monitor, they're the small picture on your monitor, that's where that news conference will get underway at the hospital, so we will hear from hospital officials, but as I was saying, they in fact are waiting for this news conference with the Sheriff's Department to happen first, so that the news agencies, the gathering news agencies, including us here at Fox 11, can bring you both news conferences, and so that they don't step on each other's toes, so to speak. We're also getting some updated information on another victim, so this victim was taken to all of you, UCLA Medical Center in Selmar. We're hearing from the PIO, they're confirming that one victim was transported to their hospital, all of you, a 15-year-old female, she was not injured by gunfire, and she should be released soon, so I can only suspect that what happened was, you know, maybe some sort of stampede, once they heard that gunfire, and she was injured in that situation, because they're saying she was not injured by gunfire, but luckily the good news here is that she will be released soon, a 15-year-old female, at all of you confirming that for us. The other hospital involved today is Providence, Medical Holy Cross and Mission Hills, they have two students, one was airlifted, and one was taken by ground, but both are going to make it, one is listed in fair condition, and one is listed in good condition. All right, let's go upstairs to Rick Dicker, who is hovering high above this news conference at Central Park, Rick. Hey, we watch more of that as Sheriff Viennueh about the 33rd Sheriff of Los Angeles County was helicoptered in and landed in an A-Star helicopter, an LA County Sheriff's helicopter in Central Park, same helicopter that we fly up here in Sky Fox. Luckily, the Sheriff is now being briefed by all the commanders, making sure that he has all the vital information so that he can present that information to the public at the podium down below here. You can see the media is gathered in the parking lot there. The podium is set up, again, a briefing is likely taking place just to make sure that Sheriff Viennueh is clear on all of the information that we have thus far, and he can pass that on to the public. Still awaiting that press conference set, Henry Mayo, Hostelola, Over, and Santa Clarita, Bokeh Canyon, and watching the scene on the campus of Saga's High School, when this incident, this shooting on the campus of Saga's High School took place at about 7.30 this morning. That large quad right in the center of the campus, a crime scene now, all the backpacks and other items left behind by students there in area where they likely congregate to socialize, talk about their next class, what's coming up this weekend, and now they're dealing with this. Again, awaiting the press conference, we're watching them from above, over Central Park up here in Skybox. Beness, I'm all about to you. And there's still so many questions. Obviously, once we first heard of the gunfire, we of course are worried about the students, but Rick, you were flying over that entire neighborhood, that entire area that was on lockdown, because they could not find the suspect, they couldn't find the shooter. He was just described as an Asian male-wearing, black clothing, police swarmed the area. That's when FBI came in, SWOT teams came in, and shut down those neighborhoods. Literally everything was on lockdown, looking for that suspect. We still don't know where he was found, when he was found in what condition, why he was at the hospital. Was it a self-inflicted injury? Did police shoot at him? So we have a lot of questions that are hopefully going to be answered once that press conference, that Central Park begins. And again, the fact that the sheriff had to be flown in is unbelievable. That's how many people flock to Central Park to pick up their kids, to make sure everything was okay. He couldn't get in, that press conference was supposed to start at 10 a.m., it is now almost 1120. And to share with Alex V. in a way of tweeting just 11 minutes ago, so obviously moments before he actually landed at Central Park to remind parents that if you still need to be reunited, please do head to the south end of Central Park, and then also appreciation. I should not have to go to school, and fear for my life. I go to school so I can get an education, so I can become a doctor, so I can go and pursue my dreams. I shouldn't fear for my life. I'm not a target. And this is unfortunately Trump's America, and it breaks my heart to know that more students have to die before we realize that this is an issue. And we need to take action. And I vowed to myself today, every day from now on, that I'm going to take action, and I'm going to stand up for gun control. I should not have to go to school, or a manager or a manager that wasn't there. I should not have done things like this all day, at school. You have to feel exploitation for life. So I'm going to get to school. I cannot do it. So I can become a doctor. I shouldn't fear for my life. I'm not a target. And this is unfortunately Trump's America. I shouldn't fear for my life. I shouldn't fear for my life. I shouldn't fear for my life. I shouldn't fear for my life.
