Swedish Student Stops Deportation Of Asylum Seeker On Plane by IBTimes UK.

Elin Ersson, a Swedish student and activist, stopped the deportation of an asylum seeker to Afghanistan by refusing to sit down on a plane. The flight was unable to take off without every passenger being seated. Ersson filmed a Facebook live of her peaceful protest on July 23 which included both anger and support from her fellow passengers.

Elin Ersson, a young Swedish activist earlier this week managed to suspend a Turkish Aircraft from departing Gothenburg airport by refusing to sit down. The reason for this was to prevent a 52-year old man from Afghanistan who was also on the plane, from being deported.
