I'm sure you're right. Shooting victim Gianna Baca is visiting a special patient. Her identical twin sister Natalia suffered a more serious wound, a shot to the shoulder that punctured her lung. I noticed that I like, I like, got shot and then like, I fully went into shock. Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, 18 year old Addison Short is another shooting victim. She was hit in the leg. Like fire, like, and it just took me down, like, and once I got back up it literally felt like my foot was just dangling. Sugar and... The bullet is still lodged in Addison's leg. She's having surgery tomorrow. Go, Faith, go, go. Some like 18 year old Addison Short awaiting surgery. Her lower leg shirt, a bullet still inside. Go, Faith, go, go, go, go, go, go. Markable story of survival in Orange County. Off duty firefighter was at the music festival and escaped. But made sure he rescued as many people as he could along the way. CBS2's Dacey Butler has his story from Huntington Beach. We were kind of piled on top of each other kind of like a mob and we were running for our own. A mob and we were running for our own. Trascus was among the first to arrive at Alaska's hospital. He warned the doctors and nurses. He hopes every limp, every wince will remind him to be grateful for the life he almost lost, grateful for the life he almost lost. The guy had been shot in the back or in the backside and I thought it was going to be okay but he was bleeding and so he wasn't as serious to shove him into the ambulance. It was right there so I took him in my car and she said can I drive because she worked from that show and we got to the hospital so quick you wouldn't believe it but but anyway she and we got to the hospital so quick you wouldn't believe it but. But anyway the tragedy here in Vegas has brought out the best in so many people and I want to introduce you to Tom McIntosh. She was among the hundreds who were wounded when a complete stranger stopped to help him and Tom Good Mornings. Good to see you. Thank you. First I want to ask how you are. You were shot in the leg. Yeah a little sore, I'm okay though. What happened? What do you remember? We were watching the show and a bunch of shots rang out and we thought it was fireworks at first and just kept coming and coming and once everybody realized what it was it really started running and that's where we were running out to the east side of the property and tried to get over the wall and I helped my wife over the wall and I helped another lady over the wall and that's when I got shot so then I jumped over the hall and I jumped over the hall and kind of walking down trying to get away and bleeding really bad and that's when somebody tried to help me and he wasn't really doing it right and then James came along and tied off my leg and kept me from bleeding anymore and another guy he put me in a truck and that guy took me to the hospital with James and just a lot of people helping out, just a lot of people helping out. You were there, your wife you had gotten her over the wall and then after you were shot you were saying you were bleeding out you feel like you wouldn't have made it if someone hadn't stepped in. No I was glad it's how I got over the wall up and my pants were already soaked and my shoes were full of blood so now I wouldn't have made it, I know I wouldn't have slept but you know I'm very thankful that James was there to help me. The James now you know his name but you didn't know him then. No. No. Complete stranger. We were able to find James and I know you wanted to thank him so we brought him here. Oh wow. You could meet him and James is here. This is James Lawson. There he is. Hey man thanks buddy. Of course. I appreciate it. You do. Yeah. Alright. That's great. You haven't seen each other since yesterday. Since we dropped him off at the ER. Drop him off at the ER. James you found Tom what did he look like to you? You could tell he needed help obviously. Yeah we were getting away and we came across him and he was in the bed of a pickup truck. There's a belt. Make sure to turn a kit. It was kind of around his knee. It was a bleatly wrong spot and around his knee. It was a bleatly wrong spot and I just walked up there and he was actively bleeding. I adjusted the belt, got it up where it should be tightened down. We stopped the bleeding. We hung out there for 10-15 minutes and some savior in a pickup truck came and we said yeah we threw him all in the bed of the truck and we took off to the hospital. You must have both been terrified. Both been terrified. He was cool. He was actually really cool about it. I was terrified. Yeah I don't remember thinking. Yeah we just you know he could one end to not lose his foot and I kept reassuring him that. He's still got it. We're good. James how did you know how to care for Tom? Well I mean I've been in Army reserves for over 10 years. Now we go through numerous combat life saver trainings and got my EMT shirt a while back and we did anything with it until the other night so I didn't go through all that semester for nothing. Tom and I were just talking before we came on here and he couldn't say enough about you saying you wanted to talk to James. He had to tell him thanks. Of course. Absolutely. When we were speaking a little bit earlier we were talking about this tragedy and everybody is so shaken up and stunned and I told you you know a story like this or makes us remember what we really are. Two strangers coming to help. Absolutely. I mean there was dozens and dozens of other concert goers doing the same thing. You know they couldn't leave anybody behind. They were running back towards the fire to help more people. There's got to be hundreds of stories like this one. I do want to say that whoever was driving that maroon F-250 350. Thank you. Thank you. Could have been a whole different night if he wasn't there when he was. I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't be missed. I'm so glad to meet both of you and I'm glad that you're back together and hope this is the beginning of a friendship here. Absolutely. Oh definitely. Most definitely. Thank you so much. Thank you for being here.
