The Giffords group and March For Our Lives said the forum focused on gun violence will be the first of its kind for presidential hopefuls and will be open to all candidates who meet the Democratic National Committee's polling and fundraising thresholds for the September debate.

The organizations did not yet have details on which candidates would be attending. They have until Aug. 28 to qualify for the September debate.

Student activists from the March for Our Lives movement took a tangible stand against gun violence on Wednesday by unveiling a bold new plan they say will cut gun-related deaths by half over the next decade.

The six-point comprehensive proposal called the “Peace Plan for America,” aims to tackle not only the regulatory aspects of gun ownership but seeks to empower young people within the political arena, said the organization, which was started by the survivors of the 2018 deadly mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The attack took the lives of 17 people.

The plan comes in the wake of the nation's most recent mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, as well Chicago's most violent weekend earlier this month.

You know, it's very, very hard not to get mad. I almost get, I get like basically sick to my stomach and nauseated as soon as I see David Hogg. As soon as I see David Hogg, I see non-stop things on the news. I went to NBCNews.com because when I came home, Channel 4 was out of my fucking house. And I started seeing somewhere that said a surprising twist and when someone just got arrested and had arsenal of weapons all over the place. And I wanted to see what the hell story that was. It only do is open up NBCNews.com and here's David Hogg when his coming is fist. I said these march for our lives, Jews were all coming for this shit. I said it right here when the Sunsini did Al Paso, August 1st, presidential hopefuls, invited to gun control forum in Vegas, being held by the Gifords group and a march for our lives who said the forum focused on gun violence will be the first of its kind for presidential hopefuls and will open and will be open to all candidates who meet it. And you're fundraising thresholds. This fucking kid February 20, 2018. The only source of any grieving that I could do at this point is just keep fighting. You're such this kid has been so fucking exposed in the bullshit that has come out to even cover his ass, even Alex Jones getting involved. Alex Jones in his video deposition saying he's blaming psychosis, wearing Sandy Hook Green. Florida Shooting Survivor explains how his generation can force a change on guns. If you don't believe me, if you've never seen Alex Jones with that, Alex Jones, psychosis, Alex Jones blame psychosis for Sandy Hook conspiracies. And in his video, all look at him right there wearing his Sandy Hook Green. He is married to a Jew as Jew kids. CBS video confusing hog was on campus because you guys came out and made up this shit where he like told this whole fabricated story that he went back to the school multiple times saying that shit. But yet he basically said he was home, heard about the shooting, said this can't be another one. These are completely all different words. This is not a out of context shit. But here it is showing part of this and I was reading it just to refresh and I'm like wow, where he said this, where he wrote back at six o'clock. This is a legit story because I never saw this shit myself. And when I read this you're understanding my first story, my first race shit and hostility. I knew I wanted to talk on the news and make sure there was advocacy, especially with so many people from the NRA and different gun-toting Americans who watch Fox News. There cannot be another mass shooting I said. I'm looking at the school right now. You can see bullet holes in the windows. It's insane. And the fact that there's more bullet holes in the windows than bills that have been proposed. Are you f-? This is not how people talk. All right? This is not how people talk or in a tragic event. There he is. There's Trump and all the Jews and Jarrer Kushner and all that and saying why Jewish Democrats are disloyal to Israel. Let's take a look at this and listen to this shit where they're unveiling their bold new proposal for gun control. It's an appropriate bold response to the massive amount says David Hawk and a newscaster in his sandy hook, Green. It doesn't end people. We're going to get right into this. Now again, I'm going to let this play. I haven't heard it fully either. I've only made it past like two minutes. But when you hear David Hawk and you hear what he's saying. Just remember again about what I said about August 1st and that presidential debate coming up and everything and who's sponsoring it. Yada yada yada. If the government won't take the first step in reforming this country's gun laws, some activists say that they certainly will. The organization march for our lives today. Rolling out a new initiative to cut gun violence in this country and cut it dramatically. The group of course was founded in the wake of that February 2018 mass shooting in Marjorie Stoeman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. 17 students and staff members were killed in that attack. And the group's first effort marches in Washington and across the country and around the world in fact on March 24th of that year. Brought out more than a million people to demand action on gun reform. With us two co-founders of the March for our lives movement David Hawk and tier Roberts. Both students at Douglas High School, both survivors of that 2018 shooting. Now real quick, when I show this to my girlfriend, note that how she has barcoded American flag. Alright, I told her what that represents and everything to you. Just just just just take that in and watch your eyes reading a script and everything too. A big thanks to both of you this morning, Tia. Before we talk about the initiative, just first of all your reaction to the president and what appears to be once again some wavering here on expanding background checks. Of course, well, it's not like the wavering is unexpected. All we ask is that if you don't agree with us, if you don't agree with our plan, I love her name backwards hate. Then come up with your own bold plan. And so that's what we ask of all politicians really. David, in a nutshell here, tell us what your group is calling for in this new piece plan as you guys are calling it. Well, we're calling for a multitude of things, not in which could be fully covered in this interview. And that's why I would encourage people to go to march for our life.com to lick the plan. They want to, but the important thing to remember about this plan is it is an appropriate and bold response to the massive amount of gun dust that we have on every single year in the United States right now. And it's not a plan that's looking to get Democrats or Republicans elected. It's looking to get Americans that are morally just leaders elected that care about people dying across the country on a daily basis. You know, we see all the mass shootings that happen on TV, but we don't see them the everyday shootings that happen nearly as much. And we especially don't see the majority of gun deaths, which are suicides predominantly in rural and suburban areas. And we never hear about the root causes. Now, I just showed my girlfriend this too. I said, how ironic is this? Just watch. What's breaking all over the place? Cops are now all of a sudden killing themselves at a high rate, more and more. Epstein killing himself? Sure. Sure. Sure. It's not scripted. So I've gotten violence for dirt and justice. And we hope that this plan can help address those things in the first place. What about the President's assertion that so much of it goes back to mental illness as well? Oh, yeah, because I showed that too that they wanted everybody to address it as mental illness. Look at that freeze frame on his face. I think it's important to remember that what is not going to get us out of this issue is stigmatizing mental health more. We need to realize that as Americans, that people that are mentally ill are significantly more likely to be the victims of gun violence rather than the perpetrators. We've seen a massive double-digit increase in gun suicides and overall suicides over the past decade. And again, that's NYPD and everything too. Yeah. Yeah. And only talking about mental health in instances where you're talking about the motivations behind someone committing something like a mass shooting is not going to help resolve the situation or help anyone in the United States. It's a few of us this past weekend. We saw protests in all 50 states, some large, some smaller. Protesters calling for changing the gun laws in this country. Things appear to once again be stalled on a federal level. Are you seeing progress on the local level, on the state level? Of course, there's always progress that's being made by grassroots activists, people who are on the ground in those same protests. And that's what we really tried to highlight in the peace plan. We brought together people from all over the country. We brought together survivors, policymakers, real game changers in this movement that are talking about gun violence prevention. And the peace plan that we've created out of those same sentiments and the same people who are on the ground marching really, really came through. From time to time, we hear from both of you on the broadcast here and I see you on other stations as well. I don't think that we always ask you how you're doing. You're mass shooting survivors, you've devoted your lives to Christchurch in the country to try and affect some sort of change. But on a personal level, how are both of you guys doing? How are you coping? I think what we really need to think about isn't so much about how we're doing, but how are the people that are not currently on TV doing? How are the survivors that have to step over bloodstain sidewalks on a daily basis that don't get that recognition of the historical injustice that causes gun violence and so many communities across the United States? And that's what we hope to address in this plan. We hope to come up with community based solutions such as violence intervention programs and creating federal funding for programs that address the root causes of gun violence, not just creating stronger gun laws and not just talking about mental health. But by talking about every single aspect of this issue as what it is, a public health issue that is not going to be solved by more mass incarceration because we realize that if mass incarceration solved our issues, T and I wouldn't be sitting here right now and gun violence wouldn't be a problem when we have the highest prisoner population in the world. I think that's a good spot to end it. Give the website one more time, David's a focus. Yeah, that's a good spot to end it. I mean, I think that even this reporter knows this is so full of shit and he asks these stupid questions and getting his type of answer back. This just makes me sick. Let's just finish the video. Let's get you to check out the plan. So if you want to go and check out the piece plan, you can go to March4hourlives.com. And even if you don't agree with anything that TRI or March4er lives say, I would encourage you to please just go out there and look because right now we need some leadership in this country and we need politicians to go out there with a plan because when they only debate these things again and again after every mass shooting in Dolom Trump goes out after Parkland and says he wants to ban assault weapons and raise the age to 21 and support universal background tracks and then another mass shooting happens and he does the same thing. We need to show him that that is not okay and we need to work with anybody that is willing to work with us to get these policies enacted. And if Donald Trump wanted to come to us and have a meeting with us to talk about how we can actually address and reduce gun violence as a public health crisis in the United States, we are more than willing to do that. You're correct. I mean, really, really. This is finished just off. I'm wrong here, but I feel like I recall you were at the meeting at the White House in the wake of the shooting where the president did publicly proclaim that something was going to be done. Were you not? So I wasn't at the White House there, but many of the other survivors of the Parkland shooting were there. And what I hope we can understand is that we need actual federal policy and a plan. The universal background checks is not enough and we need to realize that what the framers did not intend to second amendment to be was an issue that ended up taking 40,000 American lives annually. And we need to realize that we need to properly interpret it because up until DC versus Hillary, the second amendment was not interpreted the way it is currently. And again, what did I say? The beauty of the Constitution is it could always be changed, they could change the interpretations. I mean, seriously, this year freaks me out like, who the fuck are you people watching behind the scenes? That's what I said. One, five, three news. We really made a big fucking den. I tell people to we donate, it's self-funded, we have not a single advertisement, no commercials. I don't know, we get blocked out of places, it's amazing. It's amazing. Petrione dumps them, it's amazing.
