Erick Chevez, director of the Limón Day School was beaten on May 26 by a mother.

The events were recorded on the camera located in the educator’s office. In the images to which this medium had access, it is observed how the lady arrives with violent behavior and attacks Chevez.

The director of the educational center in Limon told CRHoy.com that the conflict with her is not new, since according to him, she has a history of verbally attacking and threatening to beat other educators in the institution.

Since last year we had some difficulties (…) We already have a history that she is a female aggressor”, the official from the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) began by telling.

Chevez recounted that it all started due to conflicts that the student -daughter of the adult woman- has had with various teachers who -according to him- have been disrespectful. He assured that the most recent case occurred last Wednesday when the minor was changed to another section.

That day, he received in his office one of the teachers who, through tears, he says, complained about mistreatment of the student.

“Yesterday the father appeared with the girl, after she says that she was humiliated and that she was a hindrance and she did not want to return. She arrived arrogant, she did not let herself speak, they spoke to her of respect, of sisterhood, and in the end she only says "I don’t care".

"He asked for a new section change, and I told him ’no ma’am, this is an institution, it’s not your house.’ I spoke with the father and he was given a document with recommendations to assess for the upbringing of the girl, "he explained.

According to the principal, it was after that that the lady attended school "and began to scream."

"The lady jumps on me, and tells me ’don’t touch me’ and I’m not touching her, I just put my arm as a shield because she jumped on me. That’s where he started attacking me," he said.

After the attack, Chevez assures that he was left with several blows and bruises in various parts of his head, back and neck, for which he will go in the next few hours to file the complaint.

The mother of the family attended to complain about him in supervision, where now he will have to defend that he acted correctly.

After what happened, Erick Chevez complains about the few tools he has to defend himself and guarantee the rights of educators and directors in this type of case.

He says that the Public Force denied the arrest of the lady because the attack only took place "with the fist" and not with a weapon, which is why it is classified as a violation.

“The management of the educational authority, which is the duty of the director, seriously deteriorates with the defenselessness before the irate behavior of legal representatives and the impunity that is registered in the face of the complaint.

Does a director or teacher have to die for a precedent to be taken?”, he concluded by saying.

An attempt was made to locate the suspect in the attacks to find out her version of the events, but despite multiple attempts it was not possible to contact her.
